This fabulous Antique Victorian 9ct Rose Gold heart locket is set with Turquoise stones and Pearls.

Circa 1880.

The lovely locket is set with three Turquoise stones and three Pearls.

Pearls have a wonderful lustre with a rich creamy tone, they are lovely lustrous and natural.

The Turquoise stone has healing properties, it protects the wearer from negative energy and brings good fortune.

Turquoise is the symbol of friendship, brings peace to the home and is a symbol of forget me not.

"Forget-me-not, O Lord!" is what a poor German knight shouted as he fell into a river.

He and his lady were picking flowers by the side of the river at the time, no doubt enjoying the beautiful day around them, and yet as fate would have it, the knight's armour dragged him down to the bottom as he fell in.

Upon his cries to the Lord, he threw the blue posy of flowers to his loved one and promptly drowned.

This little tale reportedly dates to around the 15th century, but no doubt had different permeations along the way, as romantic stories often do.

Hence, the concept of remembrance, eternal love and faithfulness grow from this.

A fabulous locket which was purchased in London and steeped in English history.

Complete with inner windows and silk, also an original photograph of a handsome man inside.

The locket weighs 2.5 grams.

Measures 14mm across x 18mm down.

The inner windows measures 11mm across x 13mm down.
